Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
What is RCIA?
RCIA stands for The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
It is a process through which non-baptized or baptized men and women in another faith tradition can enter into the Catholic Church. Or a baptized Catholic who has not received their first Holy Communion and/or Confirmation.
Participants in the RCIA undergo a process of conversion as they study the Gospel, profess faith in Jesus and the Catholic Church, and receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, Reconciliation, and the Holy Eucharist.
The RCIA process follows the ancient practice of the Church and was restored by the Second Vatican Council as the normal way adults prepare to enter into the Catholic Church.
If you or someone you know is interested in attending sessions to learn more about the Catholic faith, who we are and what we believe; we ask individuals to contact the parish office 717-334-2510
There is never any pressure or obligation to actually become Catholic.
